POSITION SUMMARY

Cement Masons are responsible for many scopes of work on Northland construction projects. They are expected to work safely and safeguard members of the public and the crew. Cement Mason job duties include but are not limited to job layout, understanding grading procedures, understanding elevations, measurement, blueprint reading, operation of small equipment and small tools, forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete. Good communication and teamwork is important. Cement Masons perform a significant scope of work at Northland and the skills required align with the scope of work of the Cement Masons, Plasterers, and Shophands Local Number 633.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

BENEFITS

Starting wage $31.58-$45.12/hour depending on Union Contract. Benefit package is offered through the applicable Union.



Position Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Previous construction or physical job experience preferred.
  • Physically fit to stand, squat, bend, lift, and walk for long durations in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone.
  • Ability to listen and take direction from others while being a team player and helping to train less experienced employees.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Completion of additional project specific skills training as required.
