As the Communications Specialist, you will manage Orkin’s internal communication initiatives to increase employee engagement and awareness of key programs. You will also support the external communications team by sharing stories about Orkin’s teammates and industry expertise. This role also helps lead Orkin’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, OrkinServes, and plays a key role in our partnership with the American Red Cross. This position ensures brand and messaging consistency across all internal and external communications, including the internal Orkin Pro Podcast, e-mail communications, leadership video messages, our print publication and more.

Responsibilities
You Will be responsible for...
Orkin Internal Communication
Manage the day-to-day execution of the Orkin internal communications plan and support ongoing strategy development, including building and executing an annual internal communications plan.
Establish and maintain an annual editorial communications calendar, ensuring consistency across all communication channels, including email, an internal podcast, videos, a print magazine and more.
Provide copywriting and editing support for internal communications; manage the process for writing, selecting images/graphics and other content needs.
Oversee weekly internal newsletters, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery; manage the content submission process, testing and reporting to measure effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Track and report on content reach and engagement, providing data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Lead Orkin’s CSR initiative, OrkinServes, by recommending strategy and leading execution of events throughout the year.
Support the field in planning, scheduling and executing events, including managing the Division Advocate group.
Capture event results and share stories and successes through internal and external communication effort.
Manage reporting processes and use insights to enhance future events.
Orkin External Communication
Support external communications by drafting and reviewing content as needed.
Assist in executing public relations (PR) campaigns and initiatives, particularly those related to CSR efforts.
Contribute to Orkin’s employment brand through various initiatives.

Qualifications
The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):
Education:Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business or a related field.
Experience: Five to eight years of experience supporting a communications or marketing team, with an emphasis in content and story development
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including strong written skills (AP style and web content style), and experience in traditional, online and digital communication
Strategic Thinking: Must be a strategic, analytical thinker and problem solver with persuasive communication skills
Collaboration: Strong collaborator with solid project and budget management skills to oversee the implementation of multiple simultaneous workstreams
Content Development: Ability to translate technical information and company business goals into compelling content for marketing and communications strategies for internal and external audiences
Judgment & Prioritization: Demonstrated good judgment, ability to manage stressful situations, and capacity to balance multiple priorities effectively
