ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Understanding that all divisions of the company work together for one common purpose – to deliver a consistent and distinctive customer experience to all customers.  All employees must have knowledge of Salem Five’s digital banking services and are able to use, understand and describe these services.



  • Service Book of Business - Manage an average-sized portfolio of commercial clients.

  • Maintain customer relationships and the retention of accounts through customer renewal meetings and adherence to department workflows.

  • Identify, solicit, analyze, and generate Commercial Lines Sales for the company.

  • Cooperates in gathering information on renewals with Commercial Lines team, supervise delivery of new and renewal policies and/or binders and collection of premiums in accordance with agency policy & procedures.

  • Work off an expiration report to manage renewals.

  • New Business Development -Prepare comprehensive applications and proposals for new business opportunities. Set up comprehensive insurance proposals and make recommendations for insurance products.

  • Increase sales opportunities by identifying additional product offerings on existing customers to meet their insurance needs.

  • Participate in the development of an annual sales marketing plan to meet annual sales goal.

  • Place new business quotes for potential prospects. Help identify coverage gaps and make recommendations.

  • Collaborate with Sales Producers to assist with insurance product placement.

  • Identify and recommend markets that support departmental goals for new and renewal business.

  • Renewal Management: Review and prepare renewal applications and proposals.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing in accordance with the expiration list.

  • Collaborate with Sales Producers to obtain updated renewal information.

  • Obtain and verify additional information from customers to complete applications, renewals, and service requests.

  • Set up finance agreements for customers, follow up for payments, and manage invoicing and billing processes.

  • Client Service: Provide above-average quality service and assistance to all new and existing customers.

  • Attend client meetings with Sales Producers to provide expertise and support.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and departments for smooth operations and exceptional service delivery.

  • Policy Administration - Handle policy change requests, audits, cancellations, and reinstatements. Ensure accurate and timely processing of all requests.

  • Documentation and Reporting - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and account management activities.

  • Maintain a high sensitivity level for error ratio and omissions regarding account service.

  • Billing and Invoicing - Set up and manage invoicing and billing processes.

  • Ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.

  • Daily Activity Management - Work on daily open activities and follow up on endorsements and policy change requests.

  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

  • Digital Proficiency - Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with Salem Five’s digital technology offering.

  • Be proficient with mobile smartphones, including texting, email, and application management.

  • Utilize desktop applications such as MS Office (Excel, Word, Exchange) effectively.

  • Use the Internet (mobile and desktop) proficiently to search and locate information.

  • Technology Adaptability - Embrace new and emerging technologies to support operations and customers.

  • Show flexibility and the ability to learn and adapt to change.

  • Regular attendance is essential to this position.

  • Additional responsibilities as requested.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 


Bachelors’ Degree or a minimum of one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have experience with Word, Excel, and various rating programs required.   Ability to use an advanced agency management system a must.  (EPIC preferred) Ability to work on complex insurance issues including designing total insurance programs based on risk analysis.  Bond knowledge an asset. Property & Casualty License preferred.

Property & Casualty preferred. Valid Driver’s License
