The Laser Operator is responsible for producing high-quality products in a safe, efficient manner by setting up, operating, and performing some basic programming tasks. This role involves ensuring that production equipment operates effectively, meets customer specifications, and adheres to safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
Equipment Setup and Operation:
Prepare production equipment for operation by making necessary adjustments and assisting with equipment changeovers to ensure smooth transitions between production runs
Operate laser equipment to ensure it runs efficiently and produces quality output consistently
Maintain quality standards by conducting first-piece and in-process inspections
Complete production control charts and analyze recordings to ensure products meet customer specifications
Make necessary equipment adjustments to maintain product quality
Helps trains others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures
Maintains machine operation by solving production process problems; making equipment adjustments; reporting production and quality data; reporting decisions made; referring questions to the supervisor
Maintains production operations by following policies and procedures (equipment, raw and in-process materials, and finished goods); reporting needed changes
Ensures operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures; reporting needed changes and repairs
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed through cooperation with team members and acceptance of re-assignments as directed by supervisors
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, routers, and other production documentation
Proficiency in basic math and measurements, including the use of hand-held measuring tools
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to operate laser equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all relevant safety protocols
