Job Title: Remote Medical Coder Location: (Remote)



Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Medical Coder to join our team and provide expert coding and auditing services to healthcare providers. This role involves analyzing and translating medical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, and illnesses into accurate ICD-10 numerical codes. You'll support Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Exchange Risk Adjustment, ensuring compliance with coding policies based on thorough medical record documentation.



Responsibilities:

• Accurately assign ICD-10 codes for outpatient and inpatient records, including observation and inpatient services.
  
  


• Abstract additional data elements during chart reviews as necessary.
  
  


• Ensure coding accuracy and productivity meet required performance levels.
  
  


• Maintain detailed knowledge of client-specific coding requirements.
  
  


• Review and maintain records of coded charts, identifying those held or missing.
  
  


• Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines and materials provided by management.
  
  


• Participate in department meetings and educational events.
  
  


• Independently complete coding assignments according to schedules.
  
  


• Provide support and act as a resource for the team when needed.
  
  

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in medical coding (beginner level).
  
  


• Certification required (CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-A, or equivalent).
  
  


• Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding policies, and hierarchical condition categories.
  
  


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
