Job Summary:

Looking for a commercial Lending Associate (CLA) to deliver a high level of customer services while researching and resolving customer related issues. This position will be hired at either a level I or II DOE.

The Commercial Lending Associate I (CLA I) is an entry level position that will coordinate the documentation, booking, and funding of commercial credits in addition to providing ongoing portfolio support. This position will need to deliver a high level of customer service while researching and resolving customer related issues and will also provide support to the Commercial Relationship Managers with tasks as assigned. This position performs work under general supervision and handles moderately complex issues, referring more complex issues to higher-level CLAs.

The Commercial Lending Associate II (CLA II) position in Arizona will independently coordinate the documentation, booking, and funding of commercial credits in addition to providing ongoing portfolio support to customers and Commercial Relationship Managers. This position will also serve as an escalation point for more complex documentation requests, booking and service-related issues as well as assisting with basic training and continuing education opportunities for the CLA team. This position performs work under minimal supervision and handles complex issues, referring only the most complex issues to higher-level CLAs and to the Commercial Lending Process & Administrative Manager.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates Laser Pro and non-complex attorney prepared loan documents, bookings, and funding requests accurately and according to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Reviews credit approvals to determine required due diligence based on product type, collateral, and borrowing entity while adhering to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • With guidance and support from the Commercial Relationship Manager, coordinates with the borrower and third-party resources to obtain necessary documentation to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and bank credit policy
  • Prior to loan closing, completes a basic review of loan document package, ensuring accuracy of borrower name, signature block, and basic terms outlined in credit approval. Discrepancies should be identified and resolved or escalated as appropriate.
  • Ensures lending transactions are properly booked and funded including a review of executed document package to ensure all documents are present and accurately executed.
  • Provides exceptional customer service when interacting with clients to address basic service requests such as payments, advances, and account inquiries.
  • Performs basic loan portfolio maintenance while demonstrating an ever-increasing aptitude in completing the following:
    1. Collecting and reviewing of pre and post-closing loan documentation and due diligence
    2. Addressing and clearing all credit related exceptions
    3. Completing necessary lien filings to ensure collateral is properly secured
    4. Completing various maintenance related tasks as assigned
  • Attends scheduled lending team pipeline/sales meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

CLA I –

• 1-3 years of Business or Commercial loan experience or

• 1-3 years of customer service experience in the financial services industry

CLA II –

• 3+ years of Business or Commercial lending experience

• Deposit or treasury related experience preferred, but not required

Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Ability to grasp new tasks and demonstrate accuracy in the performance of day-to-day activities and responsibilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to ensure time bound delivery across various deliverables

Hiring Salary Range

The hiring range below reflects targeted base salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s prior related experience & education and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to base salary, most positions are also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. Select positions may also be eligible to earn incentives and/or commissions.

CLA II Hiring Salary Range: $25.80 - $33.00 (Annualized at 40 hours per week: $53,664 - $68,640)

CLA I Hiring Salary Range: $23.40 - $27.25 (Annualized at 40 hours per week: $48,672- $56,680)
