Compensation: $59,000 - $90,000 (based on experience)
A Dispatch Manager is responsible for overseeing the scheduling and coordination of resources such as personnel, vehicles, equipment, and materials to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and on time. They are responsible for managing inventory, tracking deliveries, and communicating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities
Monitor team performance and provide coaching and feedback to improve productivity and job satisfaction
Strives to meet customer expectations without exception and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction results consistent with strategic objectives
Develop and implement policies and procedures to effectively manage dispatch operations
Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in dispatch operations.
Prioritizes deliveries to efficiently maximize time and effectively utilize trucks/carriers by collaborating with terminals, sales, customers to establish delivery schedules according to factors such as truck capacities, distances to delivery sites, and loading/unloading times
Develop working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure customer needs are addressed and challenges resolved in a timely fashion to improve the quality of service; identify areas for continuous improvement opportunities.
Manages Safety requirements for Carriers and Drivers at source locations and customer sites; ensures compliance with safety, insurance and training.
Reports against KPI metrics (carrier & customer scorecards, freight to customer)
Performs other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 5 years in Management Role or Transportation Industry; 3 years dispatching experience preferred; knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
Skills: Safety mindset; organized self-starter with a positive can-do attitude, a sense of urgency to meet customer commitments, manage and follow through on multiple tasks, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Work Environment: Frequent sitting, standing, and walking; some exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures when on a job site.
