Location: Lebanon, IN

Salary: $80,000.00 USD Annually - $90,000.00 USD Annually

Description:
A leader of their industry and continually growing food manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician in their Lebanon, IN area location. This person is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical control systems and equipment. This role ensures the efficient and safe operation of automated machinery and processes by utilizing their expertise in electrical schematics, PLC programming, and control system components. The technician will diagnose and resolve complex electrical and electronic issues, contributing to the overall productivity and reliability of the facility.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Installation and Setup:
    • Install, wire, and connect electrical control panels, sensors, actuators, and other control system components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Install and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
    • Run and terminate electrical wiring and conduit.

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical control systems to ensure optimal performance.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and electronic malfunctions using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
    • Identify and resolve issues with PLC programs, HMI displays, and network communications.
    • Repair or replace defective control system components.

  • Programming and Configuration:
    • Modify and troubleshoot PLC programs using ladder logic, function block, or other programming languages.
    • Configure and calibrate sensors, actuators, and other control system devices.
    • Develop and maintain HMI screens and displays.

  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and modifications to electrical control systems.
    • Update and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
    • Generate reports on system performance and troubleshooting activities.

  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards.
    • Promote a safe working environment.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with engineers, maintenance personnel, and production staff to resolve technical issues.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding system status and troubleshooting activities.
    • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
  • Experience with HMI programming and configuration.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, servo systems, and other control system components.
  • Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.




  • Knowledge of electrical safety codes and standards.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments.
