Volt is hiring IT Services Technicians located in Hawthorne CA.
The IT Services Technician is responsible for providing technical support and services, with a primary focus on reimaging and maintaining hardware systems. This role involves preparing, configuring, and deploying desktop computers, laptops, and other devices by installing or reinstalling operating systems and software applications.
As an IT Services Technician you will:
Hardware Reimaging & Configuration:
Reimage desktops, laptops, and other hardware using standardized imaging tools (e.g., Microsoft SCCM, MDT, or third-party solutions).
Install and configure operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and required software applications.
Apply updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Device Preparation & Deployment:
Prepare hardware for deployment by wiping existing data, performing reimaging, and testing functionality.
Set up user profiles, network connectivity, and peripheral devices (e.g., monitors, keyboards, printers).
Stage and deploy reimaged devices to end-users in a timely manner.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Diagnose and resolve basic hardware and software issues related to reimaging processes.
Verify successful imaging and functionality post-deployment, addressing any errors or failures.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning hardware or replacing faulty components as needed.
Documentation & Inventory:
Maintain accurate records of reimaged devices, including serial numbers, imaging dates, and configurations.
Update asset management systems to reflect hardware status and deployment details.
Document procedures and common issues for future reference.
User Support:
Assist end-users with initial setup and basic troubleshooting after device deployment.
Provide clear communication to users regarding timelines and expectations for hardware reimaging.
You will need the following to succeed in this role:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
1-2 years of experience in IT support, hardware maintenance, or a similar role; prior experience with imaging tools is a plus.
Proficiency with imaging software (e.g., SCCM, Clonezilla, Ghost) and operating system deployment.
Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and/or Linux environments.
Basic understanding of networking (e.g., DHCP, DNS, IP configuration).
Ability to troubleshoot hardware components (e.g., hard drives, RAM, motherboards).
Certifications (Optional): CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar credentials are advantageous.
Pay Rate: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
