Description: Responsible for managing a wide variety of duties in the Polyurethane Department, focusing primarily on daily department personnel management and continuous improvement. This role involves applying principles of operational excellence, such as flow inventory control, 5S, and lean manufacturing, while leading a team, maintaining positive associate relations, and facilitating team-oriented problem-solving. The individual will work from daily schedules, priorities, written or verbal orders, and instructions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: · Lead Department Operations: Assign responsibilities to individuals within the department and shift resources as necessary. Provide support in resolving issues related to processes, procedures, and data collection.· Monitor Workflow: Review and maintain the flow of work through the department. Identify disruptions to flow and ensure adherence to standard work instructions. Provide relevant feedback to management.· Key Metrics Monitoring: Improve, monitor, analyze, and report on key production metrics, including On-Time Delivery, schedule attainment, pitch, and productivity.· Team Building and Skill Development: Responsible for fostering team development, skill-building, and training of associates within the department.· Safety and 5S: Administer 5S checklists, participate in 5S audit teams, and contribute to safety audits. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized department.· Quality Best Practices: Demonstrate a sophisticated and professional approach to educating coworkers on best practices for quality assurance and prevention of quality issues. Communicate quality situations and intended results effectively.· Sample and Prototype Production: Monitor and facilitate the production of samples, prototypes, and product validation runs as required.· Quality Communication: Communicate continuously with the Polyurethane Department on quality issues, defect trends, and any necessary corrective actions.· Time and Attendance Management: Process Time and Attendance information for department associates.· Safety and Equipment Monitoring: Detect and report defective or unsafe equipment or conditions. Observe all safety rules, regulations, and practices, ensuring that the department remains organized and compliant.· Project and Quality Maintenance: Work with the Quality Assurance Manager to maintain projects and quality standards on a daily basis.· Regular Attendance: Ensure regular and reliable attendance in accordance with job requirements.· Other Duties: Perform other similar or related duties as required by the position SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and guide associates in the Polyurethane Department.
