Our Grenada location in Mississippi, United States is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Technical Manager. This job is permanent, full-time.
Primary Purpose
Responsible for managing, directing developing, and implementing all environmental, quality assurance, mill automation, analytical, and statistical concerns and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the safety and Environmental effort in the Technical Department. Actively participate in the mill's safety and environmental advocacy effort.
Ensure that a complete environmental compliance program is maintained.
Maintain a quality assurance program to maximize customer (pressroom) satisfaction. Evaluate mill's reliability performance in terms of runnability / printability, customer feedback and world class benchmarks. Visit pressrooms to evaluate product performance and host customer visits to the mill.
Manage departmental expenses.
Directly supervise 1exempt employee.
Provide and/or coordinate proper analytical services to all areas of the mill and to meet the needs & request of customers. Assist with new product development and trials. Gather and distribute meaningful mill quality data and information to internal and external customers.
Manage the mill's energy usage.
Lead capital project initiatives.
Participate in various committees, meetings, etc., to increase knowledge and promote Resolute's Operational Excellence goals
Knowledge and Experience
B.S. degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Pulp & Paper Engineering, or a technical degree with 5-10 years of relative paper industry experience.
Must have in depth knowledge of customers' printing processes and requirements.
Must be able to manage the Technical Department effectively, assign workloads, assess needs, coach, and counsel.
Strong analytical abilities and good interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to work with customers and other departments in the mill.
Must be able to assist in troubleshooting, development, and continuation of customer relations.
Must have working knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Must have a track record of continuous improvement
