Location: Jena, LA

Salary: $250,000.00 USD Annually - $310,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our client is currently seeking a Psychiatrist
This position involves delivering comprehensive mental health services within a specialized care environment, supporting a diverse population with varied psychiatric needs. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team focused on evidence-based treatments and high-quality patient outcomes.


This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and formulate treatment plans based on clinical assessments.


• Prescribe, administer, and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with professional standards and facility guidelines.


• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other allied health professionals to coordinate patient care.


• Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately in an electronic health record (EHR) system.


• Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and quality-improvement initiatives.


• Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric care as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.


• Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.


• At least one year of post-residency experience as a practicing psychiatrist (residential, correctional, or other clinical settings preferred but not required).


• Familiarity with psychopharmacology and standard psychiatric assessment tools.


• Ability to supervise or provide clinical leadership to mental health staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational guidelines.


• Proven capability to follow and help shape protocols that comply with relevant regulations, standards of care, and privacy laws.


• Willingness to participate in performance improvement and utilization management programs.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems for documenting patient care.


• Solid understanding of telepsychiatry platforms (preferred), along with crisis intervention and emergency response protocols.
• Active and unrestricted state medical license (or willingness to obtain such, if needed).


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


• Must be able to meet background-check and security clearance criteria specific to the work environment.
