The location in Grenada, (Mississippi, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Shift Manager. This job is full-time permanent.
SUMMARY : Serves as Management representative for the total mill operations on shift to ensure that Safety, Environmental, Quality, Production, Cost, and Company Policies are met. Facilitate communications throughout all departments to ensure that mill needs are accomplished.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include (not limited to) the following:
The Shift Manager has overall accountability for mill wide, safety, operations, maintenance, environmental, quality, production, cost control, housekeeping, HR and people on shift.
Goal is zero recordables.
Provide leadership to the crew leaders to comply and advocate all mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Incident commander for fire, injury, environmental and emergency incidents.
Conduct and document detailed incident investigations prior to end of shift and take needed temporary corrective action during shift.
Coordinate all outside resources, ambulance, fire, etc. and notifies appropriate mill personnel.
Ensure all finished rolls of paper are in compliance with customer specs.
Manage quality issues in other departments to minimize impact on finished sheet and roll quality.
Manage each department/s productivity levels to ensure we meet or exceed budgeted productions goals.
Manage each department's equipment downtime and personnel to ensure efficiency is maximized.
Ensure accuracy of all shift logs and reports mill wide.
Manage all resources on shift to minimize cost of manufacturing.
Manage overtime and staffing to minimize OT costs.
Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently followed mill wide.
Bring all disciplinary issues to HR and work together to administer discipline as needed and provide appropriate documentation.
Review Time & Attendance for shift personnel; send exceptions to payroll for call-in or unscheduled vacation or maintenance.
Maintain the integrity on training on shift for new hire, basic training, plus program.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10 years of Pulp and Paper Manufacturing experience
Strong Process knowledge and operating experience in a variety of operating areas
Demonstrated team leadership
Excellent communication, organization and facilitation skills
Strong Computer skills
Experience with process control system from an operation basis
