Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant at Nemours in Wilmington, Delaware

Job Description:

Nemours Children's Health, Delaware is hiring a Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider. The Cardiothoracic Surgery APP is an integral team member of the cardiothoracic surgical team and functions under the supervision of the Cardiothoracic Surgeon in the operating room, office, and hospital setting.

In addition to performing first assistance or technical assistance in cardiothoracic OR cases, this position requires participation in Cardiac Center, Hospital, and Nemours Children's Health- Delaware Valley Quality Assessment and Improvement Programs. As a professional team member, the cardiothoracic surgery advanced practice provider identifies opportunities to improve services, makes recommendations, and implements actions to promote consistency with high quality patient care.

This role requires flexibility in scheduling which may include night, weekend, and holiday on-call availability. Applicants should be highly motivated to join a high-functioning multidisciplinary team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Requirements:

• Five years of surgical experience required; pediatric or adult cardiac surgical experience preferred
• Demonstrable experience with clinical procedures

APRN: Current unrestricted Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License to practice in the state(s) in which privileges are sought; Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification via National Certification Center; BLS upon hire; DE RN (or compact state), DE APRN, DE CSR, DE DEA

PA-C: Current unrestricted Physician Assistant License to practice in the state(s) in which privileges are sought; National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, BLS upon hire; DE license, DE CSR, DE DEA
