Staff Accountant/Assistant Controller Full Time New Brunswick, NJ Compensation: $80,000 Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required Experience: 4 or more years of Finance experience are required, Public Accounting experience preferred.
Position Overview
One of the largest transportation companies in North America, Coach USA, is seeking a Staff Accountant/Assistant Controller to support the District Controller at the New Brunswick depot location. This individual will process month-end close, budget preparation, and updates, quarterly and annual audits, check daily execution, support delivery of overall objectives, and ensure the integrity and timeliness of reporting.
Essential Functions
Ensure strong controls and compliance environment for finance and ensure full compliance with our policies
Maintain detailed and accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Report and translate financial data to provide insight that enables better business strategies and decisions
Lead projects to improve efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and embrace a mindset of continuous improvement
Complete monthly account reconciliations and all supporting or adjusting entries
Prepare monthly regional financial summary analysis and ad-hoc requests
Reviewing general ledger accounts and preparing and adjusting journal entries
Performing account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts
Maintaining general ledger charts of accounts
Assisting with initial internal control evaluations
Posting monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals
Other duties as requested by the District Controller and the local General Manager
