Job Description:

Position Summary

The primary duties will include the on-site supervision of a crew consisting of one to 10 employees and ensure the completion of assignments given to crew are performed on a timely manner and meets the pre-established work standards. Ensure the crew is properly trained to operate the various equipment needed to accomplish the task, wear appropriate uniform and follow Colonial standards for customer service. Assigned as a member of Facility Care to perform any Facility Care Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Supervise the janitorial service crew to clean, sweep, trash pickup, remove snow and ice, pressure wash garages, assigned to the Facility Care Unit as well as to provide other non-technical services as needed.

  • Engage in garage cleaning, trash removal, snow and ice removal, wash down or pressure wash using a variety of equipment from brooms and dustpans to gas powered riding sweepers, scrubbers and trucks of various sizes and perform these duties as needed.



  • Properly log all service tickets for all rendered services

  • He/she has the authority to assign tasks to crewmembers

  • The Crew Chief is responsible for accomplishing the tasks within a specific geographic region, such as a specific number of locations or all locations within a given area, i.e. Washington, Maryland, and locations in Virginia, etc.

  • He/she is responsible for employees' attendance follow-up, on job site/duties assigned, and report any problems occurred on employees under his supervision and report to the respective manager.

  • Perform other assignments/special assignments as needed, and perform all janitorial tasks as needed.


  • Responsible at all times for reviewing, understanding and acknowledging in writing when requested, the company provided policies and procedures that directly support completing my required work duties.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Other special projects as directed by the Manager or Vice President, Director.

Minimum Job Qualifications


  • Must have skills of operating a variety of motorized cleaning equipment such as riding scrubbers and sweepers, gas powered pressure washers, walk behind sweepers and moving trailers, snow removal plows and equipment.

  • Must have a valid driver license and good driving skills to drive trucks of various sizes for services needed

  • Utilizing manual cleaning equipment such as brooms, brushes, mops, hose and snow shovels, etc.

  • Reading and writing comprehension of safety manuals, cleaning chemical instructions and communication via e-mail and text.

  • Mandatory - must be able to lift 50 pounds to chest height


  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred and mechanical experience of fixing simple machines is helpful.

Qualifications Desired

  • Background in the parking industry in facility maintenance (cleaning).


  • Ability to execute given job in high quality and efficiency

  • To meet daily operational needs working in flexible schedule is strongly desired and required.


  • Prior supervisory experience is desired

Performance Standards

This position will receive an annual performance review from the direct supervisor to discuss actual performance as compared to company stated expectations and agreed upon job related performance goals for the upcoming year.

Physical Demands: as part of performing the duties associated with this position, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands-to-fingers, handle tools or controls, reach with hands or arms, talk and hear. Employee must lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be subjected to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes and airborne particles. The noise level in this work environment can range from minimal to moderate.
