Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the junior level Computer User Support Specialist position and join our dynamic team at the Chemical Biological Center IT Mission Support Center (ITMSC) where we deliver exceptional Tier 2 concierge-style support to over 3,000 users during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. As a Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in providing comprehensive assistance via phone, email, and walk-in requests. Your responsibilities will span across a wide range of technical domains including hardware, software, mobile devices, networking (VPN and Citrix), system administration, cyber security, and printer support. Compensation Minimum: $55,000

Job Requirements:
Skills / Experience Required
A current Active Secret clearance is preferred
Ensure all calls, emails, or walk-in issues received during duty hours are responded back to the user via phone call, email, or issue ticket within Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Experience with Citrix, Dameware, Active Directory, Windows 7/10/11, Microsoft Office, iPhone, and remote desktop is preferred
Proficient in organizational skills, adept at prioritization, and consistently meeting deadlines with precision
Skilled in distilling complex technical information into easily understandable concepts for diverse audiences
Demonstrates exceptional critical thinking abilities and adept problem-solving skills to tackle various IT challenges effectively
Highly motivated self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision, consistently delivering results
Proactively identifies and implements preventive measures to anticipate and mitigate potential IT issues, emphasizing a proactive approach over reactive responses
Exhibits clear and articulate verbal and written communication skills, ensuring seamless interaction with colleagues and clients alike
Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working in highly visible and important customer locales; high level of professional standards required
Education / Certifications
Associate's degree or equivalent educational background
Alternatively, demonstrated 1-2 years of hands-on experience in an IT/help desk capacity or within customer service, serving as a valuable substitute for formal education requirements
National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Checks (ANACI) required
DoD 8570 IAT-I or IAT-II baseline certification required (Reference: https://public.cyber.mil/wid/dod8140/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/)
Computing environment certification or certificate of training relevant to job duties and approved by the DEVCOM-CBC Information System Security Manager (ISSM) within 6 months of appointment

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
