The position is an integral member of the Subsurface Flow Assurance team within the Operations organization at Tallgrass. The position will support regulatory workflows for the EPA, CARB, FERC, and state regulatory agencies. Experience with carbon sequestration, gas storage and general injection and production well regulatory workflows is a plus, but it is not a requirement. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with permitting and regulatory filings.Minimum requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or a complimentary degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in geoscience or subsurface engineering field.
Experience with regulatory documentation including EPA, DOE, and state oil and gas regulatory divisions is a plus, but not required.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred working knowledge and can simulate groundwater modeling workflows.
Preferred familiarity with environmental justice concerns and can generate an environmental justice analysis.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

Travel is required and is anticipated 25% of the time during project milestones.

Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays as needed.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $160,700-$193,400/yrEssential duties and responsibilities:
Assists with the design, execution, and technical guidance on compliance monitoring programs for carbon sequestration projects. Monitoring programs include ground water monitoring, induced seismicity, air monitoring, etc.
Engages and fosters relationships with regulatory agencies.
Interacts and directs third-party service companies that are preparing Class VI, CARB, Subpart RR, FERC and related oil and gas regulatory permits or applications and can provide oversight.
Maintains a working knowledge of carbon sequestration injection permitting policies that are regulated through EPA, CARB, and state agencies and the differences/similarities between such agency's protocols for carbon sequestration.
Multitasks on several documents to meet deadlines.
Possesses a creative mindset that is applied to permitting and regulatory processes.
Possesses an interdisciplinary understanding of petrophysics, geology, simulation, drilling, and operations workflows that contribute to a carbon sequestration or gas storage project.
Manages quarterly compliance reports for regulatory agencies.
Reads through and provide feedback on large regulatory documents such as Class VI or FERC permits.
Researches and describes regulatory workflows and policies.
Submits large regulatory documents such as Class VI permit applications to the GSDT site and manages submittal of sequential permit updates.
Submits sundry notices, drilling permits, etc. to state regulatory agencies on behalf of project operations.
Collaborate with a variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
