Who are we looking for?
The Medical Scheduler plays a vital role in maintaining employee schedules to ensure patient care and staffing needs are met in compliance with state, company, and facility guidelines.
Essential Duties
Scheduling & Coordination:
Create, maintain, and post work schedules.
Coordinate schedule variances with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure no vacancies in the schedule.
Administrative Tasks:
Complete and file reports as per established policies.
Keep the business office updated with current department manager contact information.
Help staff accurately complete forms, such as leave requests and timecards.
Monitoring & Reporting:
Report excessive tardiness or absenteeism to the DNS as per facility policy.
Monitor and address scheduling issues to improve operations.
Staffing Compliance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
Obtain and manage nursing care staff data for daily posting requirements.
Collaboration & Problem-Solving:
Work with nursing department staff and supervisors to resolve scheduling conflicts.
Assist in problem identification and implement solutions for better service.
Other Duties:
Perform miscellaneous staffing-related tasks.
Provide support to nursing supervisors as needed.

Confidentiality & Compliance
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information (PHI).
Report suspected or known violations of PHI disclosure to the Administrator.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: At least one year of experience using nursing home scheduling software (preferred).
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
