Job Summary

The Sr HSE Field Technician Offshore is responsible to coordinate all health, safety, training, and compliance related activities on the facility he/she is assigned to and to administer first aid treatment to injured/ill personnel and facilitate emergency medical evacuation as necessary. They will serve as the HSE Contact for production operations and responsible for providing real time HSE support to production line management.

Responsibilities

They will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:


  • Lead HSE planning and oversight for production operations
  • Provide HSE technical support to production line management
  • Provide HSE oversight of production contractors to assure they satisfy HSE requirements and contract language
  • Support development and stewardship of production specific HSE objectives, targets, and metrics
  • Develop and implement production specific HSE improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate production specific HSE training for representatives
  • Steward implementation of production incident management process
  • Lead capture and implementation of production HSE learnings and best practices
  • Responsible for emergency response which includes providing first aid treatment to injured/ill personnel and facilitating emergency evacuation as needed
  • Responsible for all required drills, inspections, maintenance, and recordkeeping associated with facility firefighting and lifesaving equipment
  • Facilitating incident prevention, reporting, and investigation - that includes planning of safety critical jobs
  • Assisting required on-board training and orientation
  • Facilitate Job Safety Analyses and the Permit to Work System including Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, Cold Work and Confined Space Entry
  • Coordinate USCG inspections, assist OIM with daily safety planning, emergency response teams, Safety Observation Programs, etc

Licenses/ Certifications

  • Certificates from industry recognized HSE organizations is recommended
  • Medic/First Aid/CPR; Marine Survival Training (T-HUET), Advance Fire Fighting Training; Rescue Training, NORM Training, Hazwoper Training, API RP2D Lifting and Rigging Training, HLO (helicopter landing officer)
Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a safety position in a production/drilling facility
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds
  • This is an offshore position. Qualified candidates must be able to work 14/14 and have transportation to the Houma, Louisiana departure location
  • Murphy requires all new employees to be vaccinated against COVID as defined by CDC, subject to applicable, verifiable accommodation requests

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in a safety related discipline

Physical requirements typically include standing, stooping, walking, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and wearing various personal protective equipment (PPE) in extreme variations of temperature year-round. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential, physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
