Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

Gannett Fleming TranSystems’ has an opening for a Project Executive/Sr. Program Manager for large aviation design projects. This position will join our Houston, TX office. This position will have a comprehensive role that encompasses various high-level responsibilities to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of aviation-related projects of in a traditional design, bid build, design-build and/or P3 environment.

Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):



  • Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale aviation design projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and schedule constraints.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and other design professionals, to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables.


  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning.


  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics, proactively addressing issues to ensure successful outcomes.


  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.


  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to project teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.


  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and enhance project delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 25+ years of Aviation or related Project Design and Management.

  • A proven track record of successfully managing large scale aviation projects, preferably within an alternative delivery environment.

  • Exceptional leadership abilities, with a demonstrated aptitude for motivating teams and driving results.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.

  • Significant experience in the aviation design or construction industry, with a focus on landside vertical construction.

  • A Professional Engineer’s License or Registered Architect.

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Work Environment:


  • The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, construction and field assignments can be severe (construction equipment, jack hammers, etc).

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk or hear, and drive a car. The employee is occasionally required climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 10-25 pounds.  No experience required.  Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal/civil background check, and motor vehicle records search.
