The Staff Accountant will perform basic accounting activities and assume responsibility for maintenance of general ledger related accounts. The Accountant readies and maintains financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, which include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature. The Accountant will analyze, study, and collect data to determine the true cost of business activities.
Job Responsibilities
Work with all levels of the company to coordinate, analyze, prepare and present data to assure profitability, including routine analysis and special project analysis.
Responsible for Month End closing tasks and reconciliation of Promotional Accrual GL Accounts.
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity.
Maintain the general ledger; perform basic accounting functions for all facilities with an emphasis on closing and adjusting functions and reconciliation of assigned accounts.
Post journal entries to the general ledger.
Prepare external audit materials and external financial reporting.
Identify key performance indicators that are relevant and will drive profitability.
Review expected accrual reports monthly to ensure the company is properly covered financially.
Responsible for reconciling inventory pool quantities as related to deviated pricing.
Work with Pricing Maintenance department to ensure accruals and selling price are at the correct rate.
Assist the deviated pricing analyst and specialist with variance research and resolutions.
Analyze the effects of transactions upon account relationships.
Evaluate alternative means of treating transactions.
Ensure the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management.
Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Compile and analyze financial information as it relates to expected and internal accruals by end customer and distributor.
Review and develop reporting to assist in analysis of deviated transactions.
Establish, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
3 years of accounting experience or more.
Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on expertise and experience.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
Proficient in MS Office suite, with an expertise in Excel.
Ability to perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with management.
Exceptional analytical skills.
Strong planning and organization skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without corporate sponsorship.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience with US GAAP Topic 606.
Master's degree in Management, Accounting or Finance.
SAP experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
Working Conditions
• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
