HAYS are representing a leading general contractor in Northern Virginia who are hiring a Safety Coordinator. Excellent opportunity to join an experienced Safety team, ideally looking to hire a professional with 2-3 years of experience in construction safety that they can help professionally develop their skill set into a Safety Manager role. The projects you will be working on are Data Center projects in Northern Virginia.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies to ensure compliance and safe delivery of data center construction projects in Northern Virginia.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Provide safety training and education to employees, subcontractors, and site visitors.
Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve safety standards.
Prepare and present safety reports to senior management and clients.
What you need to succeed:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction safety, preferably with a focus on data center projects.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certified.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to identify potential safety hazards and implement effective solutions.
Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive salary up to $80K
