Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Senior Subrogation Specialist that can do a 2-day hybrid approach onsite in our Farmington Hills office. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set. 

Summary Statement

The Senior Subrogation Specialist will directly handle moderate to complex claims related to WC, Auto, Property and Liability claims. Manages and provides quality investigation and analysis on subrogation claims.  Promotes the success of the organization through development and advancement of relationships with agencies, policyholders and employees.

Essential Tasks/Major Duties


  • Making timely and appropriate contact interested parties and taking appropriate steps to secure evidence.

  • Notifying all potential parties, legal representatives, and insurance companies of our subrogation interest.

  • Collect, review and provide supporting documents for subrogation demands, litigation and arbitrations.

  • Document strategy, action plan, and summary of correspondence in a clear manner.

  • Effectively negotiate and resolve litigated and non-litigated subrogation claims to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Familiar with arbitrations and filing auto and property damage claims via Arbitration Forums.

  • Ensure quality and timely service is provided to all internal and external customers including agents and policyholders.

  • Work with assigned Legal Counsel and vendors where needed to pursue the company’s subrogation interest.

  • Overseeing claim files with subrogation potential and offering direction to the underlying adjuster on the subrogation investigation.

  • Escalate claims decisions regarding settlement determination when appropriate to management based on financial authority level.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5 years commercial property and casualty insurance claims experience; including 3 years of subrogation experience.

  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.

  • Demonstrated successful ability to work on several projects concurrently.

  • Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
