What You’ll Do


  • Provide operational leadership and work with management to establish strategic planning/long-range goals/policies.

  • Oversee Operations team including all aspects of the portfolio accounting system (APX / Advent) including daily reconciliation, trade affirmation/settlement, security set-up, pricing/account valuation, corporate actions, system automation, data workflow/custom reporting (SSRS).

  • Support development of long-term priorities and operational efficiencies; work with management to develop/communicate position on long-term strategic issues.

  • Develop insights about key industry trends (technology/competitive analysis/consumers) and debrief organization on strategic implications.

  • Resolve escalated account issues that may occur between portfolio accounting system and various third party client custodians.

  • Work closely with various internal groups to improve operational efficiencies and proactively identify procedural, technical and data/reporting issues; drive best practice adherence by those internal groups.

  • Support core functions including compliance/finance/research/portfolio management, as needed.

  • Assist in maintaining GIPS compliant composites; provide support for periodic production of portfolio/composite performance data.

  • Ensure broader firm integration and effective cross-functional collaboration

  • Proactive operational coordinator and communicator relating to:

    • Workflow changes

    • System updates

    • Operational milestones




  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable team members responsible for:

    • Closed Period Deliverables

    • New Client Onboarding/Offboarding across all channels

    • Trade Settlement

    • Periodic Performance

    • Company Metric Report Generation

    • Cash Flow and Account Maintenance Item Processing

    • Periodic Reporting and Client Fee Billing

    • Batch Processing

    • Data Quality and Automation Requirements



  • Implement and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Coordinate and hold primary IT vendors to SLAs and optimize service delivery across platform mitigating execution risks affecting BAU environment.

  • Identify problematic areas within the platform and recommend solutions.

  • Oversee onboarding of new team employees and ensure appropriate training, as well as, fostering opportunities to acclimate to technology, business and company culture.

  • Participate in various committees to lend experience in a collaborative setting with colleagues to mitigate risk and improve processes and procedures.

  • Develop working knowledge of operational systems, in conjunction with GLA’s business and act as resource for team and broader organization.

  • Lead implementation strategy of operational transition plans related to acquisitions or alternative vendor solutions.

  • Oversee the group’s project list ensuring team is resourced as needed, status communicated to manager and /or stakeholder and goals met.

Knowledge/Skills/Background/Experience


  • Bachelor's degree and prior operations/leadership experience required.

  • Proficiency/mastery in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).

  • Systems Experience Desired: SS&C Advent Suite of Applications: APX, Genesis, Moxy, Portia, Bloomberg, Factset, Morningstar.

  • CIPM Certification or firm grasp of performance measurement concepts (GIPS experience a plus).

  • Excellent understanding of operational trade order flow and reconciliation.

  • Unquestionable integrity/professionalism.

  • Culturally able to work in collegial environment.

  • Comfortable with shared decision-making processes/collaborative approach.

  • Able to serve as a resource to colleagues to motivate them, enhance their career and work more effectively to serve clients and grow the firm; exceptional critical thinking/project management/analytical skills.

The estimated salary range for this role is $117,000 - $158,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
