POSITION OVERVIEW



Tilcon Connecticut Inc. is seeking an assistant project manager to support major capital expenditure projects at our Connecticut aggregate locations. The Assistant Project Manager will support all aspects of projects from concept through to commissioning. The Assistant Project Manager will be expected to assist in setting deadlines, request for quotation, monitoring execution, tracking spend and budget, and providing status updates on a frequent basis to local company management, division governance committee and global leadership.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in overseeing all aspects of projects, including: budget, schedules, milestones, deadlines, contracts, execution and work quality in collaboration with all stakeholders
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors execution, and summarizes progress of project
  • Develop a thorough document control process (cost management, construction drawings, etc.), including a process for tracking and documenting lessons learned for the purpose of improving future performance.
  • Track project spending and prepare reports/presentation for monthly review with leadership regarding project status
  • Develop a rigorous communication and reporting process (accurate and timely information in a transparent manner) across the entire organization in order to maintain clear and open communication with all stakeholders
  • Collaborate with AMAT National performance committees and regional project manager for duration of all projects
  • Ensure all project plans are in compliance with company environmental and sustainability goals
  • Maintain regular field presence for supervision of all stages of projects
  • Utilize demonstrated best industry practices, techniques and standards throughout project execution
  • Adhere to all CRH, MSHA, and OSHA rules and regulations at all times
  • Wear proper safety equipment while at plant sites
  • Ensure all subcontractors adhere to CRH, MSHA and OSHA safety rules and regulations. Works with company Safety professionals and assures that assigned contractors for projects conform to required health and safety procedures and practices, with a focus on risk assessment.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management




QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.E.) or equivalent experience
  • Engineer or Project Management Professional preferred, but not required
  • Experience in project management, strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience creating, working within and/or administering an assigned budget.
  • High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust.
  • Strong work ethic and high standards for safety in the workplace.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and facilitate change



Requirements

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and present data in consumable way
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of advanced computer skills especially in Excel and Powerpoint, but also including Microsoft Office, Project, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software.
  • Expertise in Primavera P6 highly preferred
  • Ability to use HCSS Heavy Bid, Bid2Win and Etakeoff would also be a plus, but not required
  • Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of functional areas within the company.
  • Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • Moderate travel required; must be willing to work in or travel to other locations as needed.
  • Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours.
  • Must be able to work independently and with groups.
  • Must be able to work under time constraints as needed.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical.


PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT



Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA, MSHA, and state agencies. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Hardhat, safety glasses, face shield, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, respirator, air monitor, reflective safety vest, and hearing protection.
