Job Summary:




The Assistant Director of Innovation and Venture Strategy plays a critical role in designing and executing the strategy of the Catalyst team and portfolio.
Catalyst is the innovation company and venture firm of one of the largest health systems in Georgia, built within the health ecosystem to partner, build, and invest in early-stage companies that are disrupting the future of healthcare.
This role is a senior level position on the innovation team of Catalyst by Wellstar and works closely with the Venture team to prioritize and build a portfolio that drives strategic value to Wellstar and the Healthcare Industry.
This role is responsible for managing relationships with key stakeholders inside Wellstar to ensure enterprise adoption of portfolio companies post pilots. They are responsible for meeting quarterly targets and accountable for 4-6 direct reports.
This role also plays a key part in the Studio function of Catalyst designed to incubate companies from ideation to launch.




Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:




Leadership: manages team including and coaches them to grow
Start-up subject matter expertise: business and market insight, technical expertise, financial acumen, and legal and compliance knowledge
Communication and collaboration:stakeholder engagement, negotiation skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Project management: Managing direct reports, each with 3-5 projects, timelines, and success metrics
Feasibility analysis for healthcare innovations: industry metrics, competitive landscape understanding, and strategic fit analysis
Designing and executive strategic focus area strategy and goals
Unlocks new value through non-traditional partnerships
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.




Required Minimum Education:






  • Bachelors Business Administration/Management or Bachelors Health Administration or Bachelors Health Science or Bachelors Physiological Psychology or Bachelors Management of Technology or Bachelors Exercise Science or Bachelors Nursing or Masters Business Administration/Management-Preferred or Masters Health Administration-Preferred or Masters Public Health-Preferred
