SCOPE OF POSITION


Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University and OSU Harding Hospital are committed to enhancing the quality of care that our patients receive. The Occupational Therapist functions as an integral member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team on a psychiatric patient care unit. The Interdisciplinary Treatment Team cultivates an atmosphere of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The Occupational Therapist functions within the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to provide patient care and supportive services that are directed at achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his or her own care plan, and maintaining a high level of productivity. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of personalized patient focused care through the integrated skills of all Treatment Team members. Services provided include 24-hour inpatient care, outpatient, and an Adult Partial Hospitalization Program for psychiatric patients.





POSITION SUMMARY


The Occupational Therapist also accepts occupational therapy referrals for assessment / intervention in performance areas, for inpatient psychiatric patients who may have performance dysfunctions that interfere with the patient's daily functional ability, as related to performance abilities. The Occupational Therapist provides therapeutic services, including assessment, intervention, program planning, and implementation, assists with discharge planning and provides related documentation in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy. Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Ohio. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.fCertified as an Occupational Therapist by the American Occupational Therapy Association and licensed to practice occupational therapy in the State of Ohio. Previous occupational therapy experience in a similar setting preferred. Demonstrates competence to meet essential job functions. Maintains knowledge related to patient care issues, performance improvement and cost reduction; current policies, procedures, and protocols.


Completes annual health and educational requirements, including holds and restraints. Maintains current State of Ohio professional licensure. Demonstrates own professional growth by participating regularly in continuing education opportunities.
