The Systems Administrator maintains and administers computer networks and equipment to ensure optimal performance in and fast recovery from emergency situations. The incumbent ensures effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, and related infrastructure.


DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS


1. Experience scripting in PowerShell and Bash (preferred)


2. Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems. 2-5 years, (required)


3. Experience working with VMware, include vCenter, VMware update manager, upgrading, and troubleshooting 1-3 Years, (required)


4. Knowledge of Nutanix hardware and software applications, Prism and Acropolis (preferred)


5. Experience working with Microsoft Azure (preferred)


6. Strong understanding of basic networking concepts (required)


7. Experience working with enterprise class hardware, troubleshooting, installing and repairing (required)


8. Works independently on tickets or assigned work.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Education:


Bachelor's degree in relevant field


Certification and Licensing:


Azure, VMware, Windows certifications preferred but can be substituted in lieu of experience


Experience:


Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.


Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:


• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.


• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.


• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.


• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
