Our client is hiring a highly skilled and experienced cloud cost optimization engineers to join their team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be working 100% remote and will focus on cloud cost optimization. A candidate in this position will work as part of an enterprise cloud services team and assist with the financial aspects of cloud services. This includes budgeting, forecasting, and managing costs associated with cloud services. This role requires a understanding of cloud technologies, financial management best practices, and the ability to analyze and optimize cloud expenditures.
Responsibilities Include, but are Not Limited to:
Develop and implement cost optimization strategies to optimize cloud expenses
Develop and implement cost management strategies, using cloud native tools, for monthly cost reporting and account level self-service cost reporting
Analyzing cloud infrastructure to identify opportunities for cost optimization and developing strategies to reduce cloud expenses
Provide insights and regular reports on cloud expenditures, savings opportunities, and best practices
Identify, develop and maintain cloud cost dashboards and reports
Identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for optimization
Analyze spending trends and provide insights for budget planning
Develop and policies and best practices for cloud financial management
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant experience preferred
Five (5) years' experience in Cloud technologies including Iaas/Paas/Saas deployments on Public Cloud (AWS, Azure), with emphasis on AWS, preferred
Three (3) years of experience in developing and implementing Cloud Cost Optimization strategies for AWS services preferred
Two (2) years of experience with Python, or similar cloud scripting language, and AWS SDK preferred
Two (2) years of experience in administering and implementing public Cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts (e.g. Cloud formation, Terraform, CDK) preferred
One (1) cloud certification preferred at the associate level or higher in AWS
Experience with cloud cost optimization using AWS native tooling for reporting and cost optimization
Proven ability to effectively support both financial decision-makers and technical teams
Candidate must hold or be able to obtain Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with FinOps/Cloud Cost Management tools and comfortable with data analysis and reporting
