Volunteers of America (VOA) is one of the nation's largest faith-based human services organizations, dedicated to improving lives since 1896. As a church without walls, Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas (VOACC) serves 11,000 individuals across five states and the District of Columbia, with approximately 800 employees and a $60M operating budget. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced President & CEO to lead our impactful organization into the future.
About the Role: The President & CEO of VOACC will be responsible for overseeing VOA's mission and operations, reporting directly to the Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to lead an organization committed to social justice, diversity and equity while fostering community partnerships and advancing our vision of service.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: 10+ years in senior leadership, preferably in human services, healthcare or affordable housing. Non-profit experience with budget management is highly valued
Leadership: A passionate, strategic leader with strong management skills, financial acumen, and a proven ability to inspire and build relationships
Commitment: A demonstrated commitment to social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion
Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. Willingness to become a VOA minister within 3 years of joining the organization
Fundraising & Community Engagement: Proven track record in fundraising, team-building and developing partnerships with diverse stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the organization's business growth to meet community needs
Develop and implement innovative programs and strategies
Cultivate relationships with Board members, government funders and the community
Inspire staff, clients and volunteers through a strong, values-driven leadership approach
