Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Materials Planning and Master Data, Ultragenyx is seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain professional to help build the internal manufacturing and supply chain processes for our AAV gene therapy products. As a leading rare disease biopharmaceutical company, Ultragenyx uses multiple technology modalities including small molecule, biologic, mRNA and AAV gene therapy to make its products. The Technical Operations group is organized by technology modalities with the AAV gene therapy modality based in the Boston area, which is where this position will be based. For the AAV gene therapy modality, we will be using a hybrid supply strategy using external CMOs along with a newly established internal manufacturing capability.

This role will work collaboratively with Procurement, Scheduling, QCRM, and Manufacturing teams at the site to ensure all gene therapy programs are supplied with high quality product in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. This role will have responsibility for the material planning and inventory coordination of our internal manufacturing facility.

Work Model:

Core Lab & Ops: This role typically requires that the majority of the work be conducted on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Material planning, analysis, and coordinating to ensure part availability for production including proactive and responsive problem solving with internal stakeholders and procurement. Coordinate and manage any schedule changes or supply shortages with the scheduling team and internal stakeholders to minimize impact to production schedule


• Participate in daily Tier meeting with cross-functional team to align and facilitate discussions on manufacturing updates, quality events, shipping schedules and facility operations.


• Maintain Oracle Master Data to ensure accuracy within the system per effective documentation


• Support supply chain compliance by ensuring documentation and reports within the quality management system are accurate


• Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to improve and streamline business performance, reduce expedites, and reduce inventory without causing downtime at the manufacturing site.


• Proactively identifying, developing, and implementing reporting and analytics to support the monitoring of inventory levels, shortages, and other key reports to support supply planning functions


• Support in the identification, creation and execution of new processes supporting material planning and master data.


• Gather and analyze data for metrics and KPIs.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related-field (preferred)


• 3+ years relevant work experience in a cGMP environment


• Experience utilizing an ERP system; Oracle (preferred)


• Experience using SmartSheet, or similar software (preferred)


• Cross functional experience in QCRM, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and negotiation skills


• Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization

The typical annual salary range for this full-time position is listed below. This range reflects the characteristics of the job, such as required skills and qualifications and is based on the office location noted in this job posting. The range may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible for annual bonus and equity incentives. Actual individual pay is determined by demonstrated experience and internal equity alignment.

Pay Range$78,500—$97,000 USD
