Job Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Under the supervision of an academic counselor and class professor the Teaching Assistant will assist with classroom and exam preparation, grading, and proctoring exams. The Teaching Assistant will also hold review sessions for groups of students, or meet individually with students that may be struggling with the class material. Acts as a tutor for students and answers any questions in regards to the class and its content. Works a flexible schedule varying from two to ten hours a week. Reports to clinical and course instructor. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include assisting faculty with exam preparation, distribution and grading, proctoring exams and grading exams. Assist in clinical assignments to units, in evaluation of student performance. Assist with laboratory practices with Clinical instructors during scheduled lab times. Hold review sessions for groups of students. Meet individually with students at mutuallyagreed upon times for individual student lab practice or academic help with comprehending course content. Report back to both clinical instructor and course coordinator by email on length of time and content covered with each student. Expanded duties may encompass a recent class grad with familiarity with subject materials who can assist with senior exam prep and exam grading.
