Job Description:

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the company, ensuring effective financial management, planning, and reporting to support the company's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, preferably within the manufacturing or agribusiness sector, with a particular focus on flour milling operations.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Support the company's financial planning processes.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

Financial Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee the preparation of management reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements and internal financial policies.

· Cost Management:

  • Monitor and control the company's operating expenses and cost structures.
  • Work closely with production and supply chain teams to optimize cost efficiency in the milling process.
  • Implement and manage cost control initiatives to maintain profitability.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Support the company's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

Team Leadership:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and financial discipline within the team.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and manage financial risks, including commodity price volatility, currency fluctuations, and interest rate changes.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Strategic Contribution:

  • Contribute to the company's strategic planning process, providing financial insights and projections.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment between financial goals and operational activities.

FINANCE MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting or finance, CPA a plus.
  • Five plus years working with related experience, preferrable in a manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems. Advanced Excel required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequently use hands, arms, and fingers for high volume of typing, etc.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
