Description:

Under general supervision, sends and receives wire transfers for the Bank and its customers. This position assesses the bank's funding on a daily basis and recommends purchase or investment of excess funds. Reconciles wire activity daily to ensure accurate processing. Additionally, this position may process the bank's posting rejects, general reconciliation, and other tasks as a member of the Support Services Department as time permits.


Essential Functions:

  1. Send and receive wire transfers for the bank and its customers; posts general ledger of wire activity.
  2. Provide assistance to front-line staff regarding the bank's wire policy, procedures, and complex wire situations.
  3. Determine the bank's projected funds position on a daily basis using a variety of information sources including the Federal Reserve Bank, correspondent banks, and other data.
  4. Monitor the bank's fed account balance and recommends funding of the account based on current or future activity.
  5. Process cash and coin orders, as directed by Brinks.
  6. Process the bank's posting rejects, ACH claims, and check fraud claims.
  7. Provide back up to the Support Services Department. May be assigned reconciliations and other tasks as time permits.
  8. Perform daily reconcilements and audits for various maintenance functions.
  9. Perform general clerical functions.
  10. Maintain a current knowledge of bank regulations. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
  11. Review and provide recommendations for updating procedures.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of customer service, bank operations, regulatory, and security experience.
  • Experience performing wire transfers preferred.
  • Effective communication skills and legible handwriting.
  • Prior banking experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform highly detailed work timely and accurately.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer including word processing applications.
  • Ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Heightened sense of urgency.
  • Excellent organizational skills – ability to prioritize department's daily work flow to effectively organize tasks to achieve specific goals.
  • Ability to take initiative. Ability to exercise good judgment.

Education

Associates degree or equivalent preferred, or combination of education and experience.
