Kinsley Energy Systems, a full-service onsite energy solutions provider, is seeking a Field Service Technician. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the commissioning and maintenance of cogeneration and battery backup storage. The ideal candidate will be a professional with experience in internal combustion engine and/or generator service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on cogeneration and battery storage systems at customer sites.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide feedback on system performance and reliability.
Maintain accurate records of service activities, including maintenance logs, service reports, and inventory.
Provide training and support to customers on system operations and maintenance best practices.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cogeneration and battery storage technology.
Maintain inventories of parts and consumables to ensure minimal equipment downtime
Safely operate and maintain a company-owned commercial vehicle
Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to 24-hour emergency calls for repairs and service
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
Relevant certifications in cogeneration systems, battery storage, or related fields are a plus.
Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, preferably in cogeneration or battery storage systems.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Willingness to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours as needed including nights, weekends and on call hours as required
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (as required by local jurisdiction) Certification or the ability to attain one
Possess and maintain a current, valid state driver's license with a current DOT medical card as required for towing
Ability to work in a productive manner in all types of weather and environments (rural and urban)
