Overview

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service, and will be a member of the Adult Blood & Marrow Stem Cell Transplant Program, Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology.

Duties include: Daily clinical management of inpatient bone marrow/hematologic malignancy patients with an emphasis clinical management of allogeneic and autologus transplant patients; shared responsibility for on-call coverage; case conferencing with multi-disciplinary teams; coordination of teaching rounds with Fellows and House-staff assigned to the inpatient; fostering collaborative relationships with referring physicians and organizations; medical direction to Data Managers and Nurse Coordinators’ experience and expertise in the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive databases; development and participation in clinical trials; participation in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair.



Responsibilities

Education & Experience:

  • MD OR MD/PhD
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Board eligible/certified in Hematology and or/Medical Oncology
  • Demonstrates the background, focus and drive to excel, as well as the desire to deliver the best care possible to cancer patient in a clinical research environment


Qualifications



Our ideal candidate must possess a proven track record of teaching, basic, clinical or population research and excellent patient care.

Proven success in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, history of success in obtaining extramural funds for clinical trials and/or basic science research.
