Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commercial Loan Assistant will have extensive contact with external and internal members in the commercial services lending and deposit gathering functions. This position assists the lending staff with support services in the delivery of high quality commercial products and services.

Pay range for this hourly position is $29.17 - $34.11/hr with a progressive benefits package.



Responsibilities

Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change:

  1. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision.

  2. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with co-workers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.

  3. Provides the highest level of internal and external customer service, demonstrating a positive member service focus at all times.

  4. Ensures confidentiality of member information.

  5. Plays a vital role in participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events, on an annual basis.

  6. Adheres to all state, federal and credit union regulations, policies and guidelines.

  7. Works under the direct supervision of the Vice President/Commercial Operations to assist members and staff in the support of the Commercial Services department.

  8. Answers phones; provides work area coverage when Commercial Officer or Commercial Loan Associate is unavailable.

  9. Prepares correspondence as necessary or directed.

  10. Processes loan payments, deposit requests, account transfer requests.

  11. Processes line of credit advance requests.

  12. Provides account and product information.

  13. Creates, updates, and maintain credit files in AccuSystems and system records in Episys.

  14. Assists with exception tracking and updating the file documentation database.

  15. Works to correct technical exceptions as quickly as possible.

  16. Requests interim and year end financial information from members as needed.

  17. Corresponds with borrowers, realtors, attorneys, abstractors, insurance companies, etc.

  18. Prepares all loan documents associated with existing new commercial loans.

  19. Prepares and coordinates loan closings (loan documentation, Episys entries, checks, file copies, GL wash account, Baker Hill, excel spreadsheets, communication with member and loan officer)

  20. Verifies homeowners insurance and flood insurance if applicable (personal and association) and requests mortgagee clause change prior to closing.

  21. Ensures the accuracy and lien perfection of all documents to be recorded, including warranty deed, ground water hazard statement, declaration of value, mortgage and any additional documents.

  22. Sets up new members on Episys and maintain existing members on Episys.

  23. Sets up new loan and deposit accounts on Episys including all related forms.

  24. Sets up new members on Q2 for online banking and maintains existing accounts, including ACH functionality.

  25. Sets up and trains members and maintains existing Remote Deposit Capture functionality for borrowers.

  26. Prepares business credit card applications and ACH applications.

  27. Monitors and adjusts variable rate loan rates, payments, etc., as needed.

  28. Processes paid loans, collateral releases, closed files.

  29. Tracks and monitors all HMDA reportable data and assists in quarterly and annual filing of reports to CFPB.

  30. Assists with processing and maintaining participations accordingly, including coordinating funding/buy backs with participants, monthly transactions, record keeping and reporting.



Qualifications



  1. High school diploma or equivalent (“GED”).
  2. One to three years in a similar or related experience preferred.
  3. Must be bondable.
  4. Ability to coordinate and prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently for timely completion. Strong time management skills required to manage multiple assignments on time.
  5. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  6. Interpersonal skills to represent the credit union in a positive way during member contact.
  7. Excellent figure aptitude, with accuracy and attention to detail required.
  8. Knowledge of procedures, forms and regulations as they relate to commercial lending and deposit gathering.
  9. Ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with members and co-workers on a professional basis.
  10. Proficiency in a wide variety of personal computer software programs, including the Microsoft Office application suite.
  11. Availability and willingness to work additional hours as dictated by the workload.
  12. A strong working knowledge of local area network directories, protocol and general maintenance procedures.
  13. Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  14. Self directed nature, ability to work independent of supervision, and ability to follow directions.
  15. Maturity and discretion to handle confidential information.

Reporting Relationship
Reports to the Vice President/Commercial Operations

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is not currently responsible for the supervision of other employees.
