Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking an Intern in our Internal Audit Services department for the Summer. In this role, an intern will gain experience with risk management, control processes of our company, and evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance.
This paid internship will be located at our corporate headquarters in Meridian, ID and may have some opportunity for hybrid work.
That we are looking for in an intern:
Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably a junior, senior, or post-grad student
Self-motivated and highly accountable
Critical thinking and prioritization skills
Good analytical and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of accounting and business fundamentals
What you will learn on this internship:
Work with business unit owners and document process flows of key business processes and the related internal controls over financial reporting.
Perform tests of design and tests of effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
Review and discuss with internal audit or business unit associated risks, controls, and plan efficient and effective audit procedures.
Perform audit procedures in accordance with the approved audit program.
Develop audit work papers that ensure work performed and related findings are adequately supported
Keep Audit Management informed of all problems or issues encountered during the audit process.
