The Project Manager/Estimator position offers direct project involvement and collaborative work with corporate and field teams. The Project Manager/Estimator oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of projects from conception to completion with specified deliverables. They will also prepare bids; provide technical product and application expertise along with inside sales support to commercial customers. The ideal professional would be able to read and interpret plans & specifications and assemble the estimate based off of communicated plans.


This position requires strong organizational skills and ability to work on many tasks in parallel. The project manager will own the project execution, be responsible for the project schedule, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.



Responsibilities





  • Candidates in this role must be very organized, self-managed, and motivated to deliver excellence.

  • Oversees the project and manages the project tasks with a collaborative approach with a team of capable and talented individuals.

  • Preparing bids and quotes for projects.

  • Track the financial progress of projects.

  • Be diligent in keeping project tracking documents current and up to date.

  • Must have strong communication skills that are effective at providing status updates.

  • Must be willing to be mentored by a more senior level project manager.

  • Prepare quotes, submittals, product sizing, and follow-up, enter orders as required, administer change orders, support field personnel and other duties as assigned by the project manager.

  • Verify change orders and provide in-house pricing.

  • Provide Value Engineering options

  • Maintain effective communication between distributors, customers and field personnel.

  • Ability to work under pressure; work with multiple deadlines and within a team environment to best achieve efficient and timely results.

  • Estimate large HVAC projects and major buyout of projects.

  • Prepare documentation for incorporation into O&M manuals.

  • Perform electronic and manual plan take-off.




Qualifications





  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required.

  • Must have at least one year of project management experience--HVAC background preferred

  • Valid driver's license along with great communication skills.

  • 2 years of direct experience with estimating and/or sales of HVAC projects preferred.

  • Knowledge of CAD.

  • Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

  • Must be accurate, possess keen attention to detail, and proactive in pointing out potential issues.

  • All candidates are required to undergo pre-employment drug screen, background checks and must have a valid drivers license with good driving record.
