RINA is currently recruiting for a Staff Engineer - Construction to join its office in Milwaukee, WI within the North America Infrastructure & Mobility Division.

RINA, formerly known as Patrick Engineering, is dedicated to hiring a Staff Construction Engineer to contribute to the efficient execution, computation, and documentation of on-site construction projects for transportation initiatives in the Milwaukee, WI region. As a key part of our team, you will engage in various field inspection activities, supervise contractor operations, document daily progress, interact with contractors, oversee QA/QC of inspection reports, and participate in project close-out procedures.

Your role as a Staff Engineer will involve collaborative work across different functions, requiring you to coordinate with various work disciplines. You will support Project Managers or Resident Engineers by assisting in scheduling, monitoring project timelines, managing budget costs, and providing valuable recommendations and insights to clients.

Key Accountabilities


  • Provide inspection services for transportation construction projects, including interpreting designs, construction specifications, verifying contractor performance, processing pay estimates, and collaborating with a team of inspectors
  • Review construction documents for constructability
  • Complete daily inspection reports
  • Examine project drawings
  • Ensure project work meets quality and safety standards
  • Coordinate with engineers and support staff, review plans from multiple disciplines to confirm coherent contract documents exist for construction
  • Enforce company technical, safety, and quality policies and procedures throughout project execution
  • Display proactive and collaborative behavior with project team members, client representatives, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Assist with additional tasks assigned by group managers

Qualifications


  • Hold an Associate or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Have relevant internship experience or entry-level design exposure in Transportation
  • Demonstrate technical and professional engineering skills aligned with years of experience
  • Preferably hold an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Possess strong Microsoft Office skills, along with proficiency in construction documentation and scheduling software
  • Show strong technical written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts clearly
  • Be a self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Anticipate local or regional travel (e.g., job sites) based on business needs
