Dr. Shou-Jiang Gao's lab at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is seeking a full-time postdoctoral associate. The Postdoctoral Associate will use a combination of molecular and cellular biology and computational approaches to study the molecular mechanism of cancer development. Research directions include immune response, metabolism, epitranscriptomics, epigenetics, microbiome, spatial single-cell in situ transcriptomics, and identification of cancer-vulnerable targets and new therapeutic agents. The postdoctoral associate will also carry out any other assignments that the principal investigator Dr. Shou-Jiang Gao may request
Qualified candidates should have a PhD in Immunology or a related field of study and have some experience or knowledge in herpesvirus infection, virus-host interaction, immune response, vaccine, epigenetics, and computational biology. The candidate should be dedicated to research with the goal of publishing high-impact articles and becoming an independent investigator. The candidate should also be experienced in project and experimental design, time management, data processing, presentation, and writing of scientific articles and grants.
