Job Description:

Federal Signal is currently looking for an Electronic Production Technician. The Electronic Production Technician builds through-hole boards, inspects, tests, repairs, and programs a wide variety of printed circuit boards. Performs duties to de-panel PCB assemblies and properly package boards in containers. Electronic Production Technician will assure PCB assemblies meet specifications and maintain quality standards. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform all duties and responsibilities as they pertain to the production and assembly of a variety of printed circuit boards.

  • Build, inspect, test, repair and program and trouble shoot a wide variety of printed circuit boards.

  • Work form specifications, schematics, shop aids, instructions and work orders.

  • Operator must possess good troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude

  • JDE Proficiency

  • Conduct operational test on circuit boards.

  • Visually check for proper polarity and soldering.

  • Work from work orders to determine proper de-panel and packaging of completed PCB assemblies.

  • Call attention to excessive or recurring defects and notify superior of unusual equipment or operating problems.

  • Use hand tools, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, programming tools and other precision electronic instruments.

  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Assist with physical inventories as required.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:


  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience with light mechanical and/or electrical assembly required.

  • Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and sound judgment required.

PPE Requirements:


  • Safety glasses

  • Steel-toe boots and/or ESD Equipment

  • Gloves
