Grain Processing Corporation (GPC), a member of the KENT® Corporation family of companies, has a fantastic new opportunity to join their thriving Alcohol Sales team as a Fuel Trader on-site in Muscatine, Iowa! As a leading manufacturer of pure alcohol, maltodextrins, starches, as well as co-products for the animal nutrition industry, this role will be critical as we experience accelerated growth. This position will be responsible for the marketing and sales of fuel alcohol products, managing outside warehouses, coordinating with operations to manage inventory and material balance, and coordinating barge and railcar logistics.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the marketing and sale of Fuel Alcohol.
Develop, manage, and maintain business-critical Fuel Alcohol customer relationships.
Report on customer and competitor activities, new applications, industry developments, and market trends.
Maintain up-to-date sale records and information in the CRM.
Develop and maintain and high degree of product and market knowledge.
Work cross-functionally with internal departments, to include transportation, logistics, commodities, quality, sales administration, etc. to provide high-level service to customers.
Maintain memberships and participate in trade association activities.
Manage vessel export sales and terminal logistics.
Monitor customer-loaded cars and GPC empty cars, with a focus on large customers.
Initiate customer rail demurrage reports.
Monitor railcar product usage, utilization, and servicing.
Coordinate barge logistics at export terminals and opening any domestic rail transfer warehouses.
Produce a rail-rates sheet for use on competitive meets.
Monitor product inventories, production, and moving orders and transportation equipment between plants.
Communicate any issues that may affect customers to VP, Alcohol Sales and other salespeople, if necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, business administration, AgriBusiness, Commodities/Commodity Trading, or related technical discipline is preferred.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in the ethanol, energy, or wet milling industries.
Have experience developing and implementing targeted sales strategies, and an understanding and ability to leverage market dynamics.
Hold strong computer skills and efficient in ERP, CRM, and other relevant applications.
Be detail-oriented and able to analyze sales data.
Be driven to achieve performance goals and objectives, both long- and short-term, and able to work and perform within the framework of the Company’s long-term objectives.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Have strong time management skills.
LOCATION & TRAVEL
This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, Iowa.
Travel up to 20% to include, but not limited to, current and prospective customer locations, business meetings, training, seminars, conferences, and tradeshows.
