ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The USF Alumni Association (USFAA) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, Direct Support Organization of the University of South Florida. The Alumni Association connects alumni, fostering a mutually beneficial, lifelong relationship with the university; supports students and strengthens USF. All alumni are general members of the USF Alumni Association and the Association also has a life membership program for life loyal alumni and friends of the University. The USFAA serves more than 384,000 alumni worldwide.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a key position within the Alumni Association's Student Program Team. This position is responsible for managing the Alumni Association scholarships including awarding and reconciliation, along with assisting with the planning of the scholarship luncheon. This position is also be responsible for advising the Student Philanthropy Council to include recruiting new student members and planning and executing student programs to educate students on the importance of giving. Lastly, this position will assist with the marketing and promotion of the class ring program and assisting with the class ring ceremonies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Awarding of 30+ scholarships: review scholarship applications, manage alumni scholarship review committees, Reconcile scholarship funds to include follow-up with students missing thank you letters. Assist Director of Student Programs with planning of Alumni Association Scholarship Luncheon. This position will have a dotted line to the Foundation Scholarship Director.

Advise Student Philanthropy Council to include attending council meetings, assisting with recruitment of new members, plan and facilitate events and activities to promote the importance of philanthropy.

Manage Class Ring Program- market and promote to students during ring week and graduation events. Assist with planning and executing of Class Ring Ceremonies in fall and spring semesters

Attend and support alumni and student signature events to include, but not limited to award ceremonies, homecoming events, week of welcome events and graduation ceremonies

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

This position requires Bachelor's degree and three years of experience related to alumni affairs, community relations or development. Related work experience may substitute on a year for year basis for the Bachelor's degree.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:

4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.

PREFERRED:

Professional experience in student affairs, scholarship administration, communications or marketing preferred. Experience engaging with students and planning student events.
