Job Overview

The Mechanical Engineer II will be responsible for working within detailed-design and sustaining areas of product development and working within a nimble, roadmap-driven, and concurrent development environment in response to leading engineers inputs. The Mechanical Engineer II will also lead the conception, development, and detailed design/engineering of hardware products for AGS.Responsibilities
  • Design gaming cabinets and other related mechanical packages, supports, functional devices, and development kits
  • Design mechanical elements and physical models of electronic board assemblies and harnesses driven by conceptual architected requirements
  • Work closely with Industrial Designers to generate feasible mechanical concepts supporting functional requirements and necessities led by overall product concepts
  • Work closely with Electrical Engineers for electronic board sizing, component selections & placements, and wire harness routings
  • Work closely with document technicians for authoring of instructions, specifications and renderings
  • Work closely with Operations for component sourcing, supplier qualifications, and manufacturing/assembly instructions and support
  • Work closely with gaming OEM component suppliers for releases of new peripherals
  • Work closely with Customer Support for mechanical field issues
  • Model and verify fit/form of OEM components
  • Develop digital models of OEM mechanical and electrical components
  • Interpret and attest to existing and legacy AGS product designs
Skills/Requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills with a sense of urgency
  • Experience with gaming or other consumer or public-use human-interface products
  • Experience with nationally-recognized safety lab submissions (UL or ETL preferred. CE a plus)
  • Experience with design of electronic packaging using sheet metals, die castings, plastics, and fasteners
  • Working knowledge of standard mechanical workshop tools
  • Experience with BOM management, product configurations and modes, resource planning software and document control configuration management
  • Experience with designing and administering test methods and equipment for validating prototypes
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years public or consumer product design experience
  • Minimum 1000 hours using SolidWorks, including Sheet Metal, Routing, Surfacing, and PDM Works
  • PDM administration experience is a plus
  • 5-10% travel
