Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Systems, the Business Systems Analyst I will provide technical and business process support to functional leads across departments to support and enhance the University’s suite of Workday Financial Management applications including student finance, procurement, general accounting and ledger, payroll and Adaptive Planning. This role will support configuration, testing and implementation of new or existing features with the Workday products that Financial Systems supports. The Business Analyst I will also assist with reporting needs within Workday, ensuring the integrity of the data provided.Essential Duties
Provides day-to-day support for functional and technical operations related to financial systems used by the Administration and Finance Division to meet business needs
Support report development, maintenance and validation, including the creation of calculated fields
Design, configure, document and test system enhancements and new functionalities in Workday Financial Management
Continuously evaluate business processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and effectiveness
Perform regular system audits to ensure data accuracy, integrity and identify business process gaps
Act as back-up for Workday Student Finance configuration and assist in the maintenance and support of Transact Payments, our credit card processing system
Conduct training sessions and documentation for end-users
Contributes to the overall success of the division by performing related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in financial data management with strong information systems knowledge, preferably Workday, with the ability to maximize the use of reporting tools.
Must be detail oriented with strong analytic, problem-solving and organization skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel for data validation and analysis
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, set priorities to manage multiple demands, and work both independently and as part of a team
Bachelor's degree required in relevant field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workday Student, Workday Financials and/or Adaptive Planning
Experience building reports and calculations with Workday
Understanding of Higher Education Industry
Work Environment
Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work
Ability to travel around campus for meetings and other work related events
