Develops plans and budgets for all resources within the Applications group (lawn, tree, weed), including procurement, labor, equipment, and materials. Through team, ensures maximum use and completion of work within budget and safety guidelines, while maintaining quality standards. Promotes the growth and development of field staff and assists them in carrying out their responsibilities as needed. Responsible for hiring and training team, ensuring appropriate staffing for the projected workload. Plans, supervises, and monitors the application processes, and identifies required training through field audits. Ensures staff is always properly licensed. Works to maintain and improve staff morale and addresses personnel issues promptly and fairly following established policies. Works with other departments within the branch and at the Corporate Office to achieve business goals.
This is a full-time, salary-exempt position. The salary range is $53,000 - $65,000.

Employment/Human Resources:
Responsible for all aspects of department staffing, including interviewing and selecting new employees, evaluations, recommending pay increases, and terminations.
Ensure the team is properly trained, certified, and licensed to perform their assigned job functions.
Conduct site inspections and provide ongoing training as needed.
Compliance:
Respond to customer complaints
Order equipment and supplies
Meet contract specifications
Maintain Landscape Contractors License
Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the field, vehicles, shop field offices, and customer work sites.
Stay aware of Best Practices. Develop and recommend improved work methods and standards.
Financial:
Develop a yearly department budget and work with the branch manager to monitor wages, revenue %, capital budget, etc.
Develop and implement strategy for growing business and developing department assets
Evaluate current contracts and oversee changes to scope and price to improve profitability.
Technical:
Work in the field as needed including applications work.
Provide technical assistance when needed.
Manage snow removal and décor functions when needed.
Must be able to obtain an Applicator's license within 30 days of hire and maintain the license.
Administrative:
Oversee payroll
Ensure all field reporting and records are completed accurately and in a timely matter.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, prefer 2- or 4-year degree in horticulture, business, or a related field. Experience may substitute for education.
3 - 5 years of experience as a supervisor or manager in the landscaping industry.
Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented.
Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and effectively train and ensure direct reports can comply with the above.
Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
