A Manufacturing Engineering Technician or Specialist is responsible for identifying and eliminating waste within an organization's processes by implementing Lean methodologies. Including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, and Kaizen events, to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. This is often completed by training employees, leading continuous improvement projects, and facilitating a culture of ongoing process optimization across different departments within the operations of the company.
Role & Responsibility
Process Analysis and Improvement:
Analyze existing workflows to identify areas of waste (time, materials, motion) and develop strategies to streamline processes using Lean tools like Value Stream Mapping, A3 problem solving, and standard work.
Lean Training and Coaching:
Educate employees at all levels on Lean principles, tools, and methodologies, including 5S, Kanban, visual management, and root cause analysis, to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Project Leadership:
Lead cross-functional teams in implementing Lean improvement projects, including Kaizen events, to rapidly identify and eliminate waste within specific processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives and report on progress to stakeholders.
Change Management:
Facilitate the transition to Lean practices by addressing resistance to change and promoting employee engagement in the improvement process.
Job Requirement
Technical - Associates Degree or Allow Equivalent
0>5 years' experience
Strong applied mechanical skills and willingness to use them.
Manufacturing or Product Development experience preferred.
Good written and verbal communication
Physical Demands: The overall level of work is defined as heavy duty. Employees are expected to exert 51-70 pounds of force occasionally, 21-50 pounds of force frequently and/or 11-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Valid Driver's License Required
