The Municipal Account Manager reporting to the Director Sales and Marketing and serving as a key member of the National Accounts team, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales, marketing, and revenue generation. This role involves managing both reactive and proactive sales in addition to managing marketing efforts. The National Municipal Account Manager provides effective leadership to the sales associates, supports managers in their marketing endeavors, and ensures the achievement of sales objectives and booking goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the front-line leader, finding and creating new sales opportunities within our target accounts while leading an internal team coordinating with external partners to win those opportunities.
Managing sales on assigned accounts within North America.
Create and execute a territory plan on target accounts and approach to "landing and expanding," prospect target accounts with the goal of engaging potential champions and sponsors to find and create an opportunity.
Collaborate regularly with their assigned Business Development Representatives to engage new prospective customers.
Accurately forecast the business objectives of your clients and GFL.
Identify, engage and build relationships with resellers and other partners with whom we can sell.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
10+ years of full cycle sales.
The ability to deliver compelling "teaching conversations" that are well tailored to each prospect's situation.
The ability to take control of opportunities and propose next actions, to move them productively forward.
The ability to maintain a focus on validating the details of deals, to ensure they can be effectively executed.
Experience selling to the C-suite (all lines of business).
Experience selling subscription models and multi-year deals.
Networking background is a plus.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in proven progressive sales.
Ability to commute using own transportation.
Valid driver's license and great driving record.
Excellent communication, problem-solving and presentation skills.
Excellent time management, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
